A Delicious Coffee Fix For The Monday Morning Blues

Posted by Southwest Beverages on 7/19/2015

6 AM Monday morning. The alarm clock awakes me. One eye manages to squint open while the other eye remains shut, full of sleepy sand. My hand hits the snooze button and I roll over to enjoy 15 more minutes of shear comfort. Several minutes later I begin to wake up. I try to generate some form of energy to get me up and going. I stare at the ceiling and begin to think about the pleasant memories of the weekend. First a smile comes to my face, then another and then outright laughter. The snooze alarm goes off interrupting my moment of joy. I hate Monday mornings, I thought to myself as I swung my legs out of the bed and ready myself for the trip to the dark, cold kitchen to make some delicious coffee.

I flip the light switch and the bright lights come on in their full force and fury pushing me out of my transient state of mind. Like a well rehearsed play, I begin my morning ritual of making my coffee by opening the cabinet and pulling out my favorite lilac colored mug. While I was waiting for the microwave to boil the water, I walked over to the window to see the weather. Pulling the curtain partially open reveals a dreary day ahead-steady rain, gray sky and cold, probably in the low 40s, no sun.

The microwave beeped signaling me to pull from the cabinet one of the chocolate hazelnut single serve coffee packets from the box of Kemosabe gourmet coffee. The release of the chocolate hazelnut aroma aroused my taste buds as I opened the packet and began to pour its contents into my mug. Gently I began to stir as my mind drifted towards the days work that awaits me at the office. As I taste the first sip, I savor the moment thinking to myself as I looked down at the mug of coffee, what a delicious coffee fix for the Monday morning blues.
