I’ll Never Look Back-KEMOSABE Chocolate Cinnamon Flavored Coffee

Posted by Southwest Beverages on 3/31/2016

Like most days since I left Gail, Texas after high school and came to New York City to pursue a career in acting I began my day by making a cup of Kemosabe chocolate cinnamon flavored coffee and studying my lines for the off Broadway play I am starring in. For whatever reason, on this particular dreary, rainy morning, I stopped rehearsing my lines, put my notes to one side and began staring at the red cup of steaming hot chocolate cinnamon flavored coffee I had placed on the windowsill in my kitchen.  For the next ten minutes, I became mesmerized by the cup of coffee sitting on my windowsill that I began to reminisce about how my acting career had evolved over the past eleven years from Gail, TX to Broadway.

Looking at the cup of chocolate cinnamon flavored coffee sitting on the windowsill I thought about the odds of a girl from Gail, TX, a small town of about 250 people located 25 miles south of Lubbock, making it to Broadway. I thought about the hard life I had growing up and how my mother drove me three days after school to Lubbock for acting classes. I thought about the day I was accepted into the University of Texas’s acting school and the four years of hard work it took to graduate. I thought about my decision to come to New York and all the lonely days and nights that followed for years. I thought about the waitress job I had for seven years.  I thought about the many minor acting jobs I got over the years that lead me to this point in my career. I then got up, went to the window, picked up the cup of Kemosabe chocolate cinnamon flavored coffee, cradled my hands around it and took a sip. There was something very comforting that had occurred at that moment-the moment my hands cradled the cup of Kemosabe chocolate cinnamon flavored coffee and I looked threw the rain soaked glass window at the “walk-up” apartments that lined West 44th Street. I had made it, I concluded. I came to New York and had made it. I began to cry. “I am now a successful actress on Broadway,” I whispered with tears rolling down my face. Picking up the cup of Kemosabe chocolate cinnamon flavored coffee, I whispered, “I’ll never look back.”
