Comfort In Every Sip-SIPPITY Gourmet Flavored Hot Chocolate

“Play Ball!” the umpire called out signaling the start of the baseball season for the Yankees and Astros on opening day at Yankee Stadium. As soon as the Yankees announced tickets sales for the upcoming season, my brother, Sal, purchased two tickets for opening day. It has been a time honored traditional in the Cambazzi family to attend opening day at Yankee Stadium. Our grandfather started the tradition back in 1937 and our father continued the tradition until he passed in 1993 and now Sal and I are continuing the tradition.

Throughout the cold, dreary New York winter, Sal and I would talk about the upcoming season for the Yankees and how we enjoyed sitting in the sun at Yankee Stadium on opening day. It signaled the arrival of spring. So much for that dream. Today when we woke up it was thirteen degrees with a wind chill of 20 mph. Nevertheless, Sal and I bundled up and headed for the Stadium. The first thirty minutes of being inside the Stadium was exciting-the players were taking batting practice, fielding ground balls, playing catch, the grass was green and excitement was in the air.

Shortly before the game began the cold of the day had begun to “eat” into me. “I’m going to get some hot chocolate,” I said to my brother, Joey. “Do you want any?”

“That would great, Sal. Why don’t you pick up a couple of hot dogs also?”

Five minutes later Joey’s cell phone rang. “Hey Joey, it me Sal. I’m down here at the concession stand and they have five different gourmet flavored hot chocolate to choose from. I’d figured I give you a call to see which flavored hot chocolate you want since I know you’re a connoisseur of hot chocolate and I don’t want to get you a flavor you don’t want.”

“What’s flavors do they have?”

“Chocolate, chocolate cinnamon, chocolate marshmallow, chocolate peppermint and chocolate raspberry.”

“Get me a large chocolate cinnamon flavored hot chocolate.”

Ten minutes later I returned with four hot dogs and two twenty-ounce containers of Sippity flavored hot chocolate-one a chocolate cinnamon for me and one a chocolate marshmallow for him.

To make a long story short, over the next three hours the sun warmed us somewhat, but it still was only 28 degrees for most of the game making us each drink two more containers of Sippity flavored hot chocolate.  The Yanks lost 5-3.
