Honey, Go Fly A Kite-SIPPITY Hot Chocolate

Posted by Southwest Beverages on 7/8/2016

Last week my wife of 52 years was extremely angry at me for not taking my work boots off after I had been in the garage working on my car and tracked in “some” dirt and oil. She was so angry that at the end of her yelling at me she told me to “Go fly a kite”. Well this got me to thinking that I have never flown a kite with my nine-year-old grandson, Bart. Later that day I called my son and asked him if I could take Bart kite flying one-day next week. He agreed.

One week later at breakfast my wife asked me what my plans were for the day. I told her I was going kite flying with our grandson, Brad. “That’s a rather unusual thing to do,” she stated as she picked up her cup of Sippity hot chocolate.

“Well, you told me last week to ‘Go fly a kite’ so that’s what I’m doing today,” I stated.

“Jack, you didn’t have to take me so literally.”

“Well, I realized that I never went kite flying with Brad, so we’re doing it today.

“Where are you going?”

“I thought down to Wilber,” I replied, referring to the small town of Wilber just 25 miles south of Lincoln, Nebraska where we live. “I thought we would go out in one of the pastures there,” I added.

“That sounds like fun. Can I come?” my wife asked as she then took a sip of her hot chocolate from the cup she had in her hand.

“I was looking forward to spending some quality time with Brad. Just me and Brad.”

“Well I know when I’m not wanted,” my wife stated as she put the cup of hot chocolate back onto the saucer, got up and stormed away towards our bedroom.

To make a long story short, I made up with my wife and she accompanied me on our kite flying day out with our grandson, Brad.
