Let’s Go Someplace New Today-KEMOSABE Gourmet Coffee

Posted by Southwest Beverages on 11/13/2016

“You know, Karen, we grew up in New York and now each live-in Manhattan and I bet if I ask you what sightseeing places you have been to you will tell me less than a handful of those a visitor to the city has seen,” I stated to my girlfriend as I was sitting on her couch on Sunday morning reading the New York Times.”

“You’re probably right, Mark. Outside of a going to the Statute of Liberty when I was in fourth grade and going to the Empire State Building when my Uncle Eddie came to New York twelve years ago I haven’t seen anything.”

“Well then Karen let’s go someplace new today.”

“I’m up for it. What do you have in mind?”

“Why don’t we take the subway down to the Freedom Tower and then we can walk down to the Battery and take the Staten Island Ferry over to Staten Island, have some lunch and come back,” I suggested.

“That sounds like a wonderful day out, Mark. Give me twenty minutes to get dressed and we on our way.

Two hours later we left the Freedom Tower each with a tear in each of our eyes and a new and better understanding of the events of September 11th. As we started to walk down to the Battery, Karen asked, “Can we stop and get a cup of coffee.”

“Sure,“ I replied. “I think the Greenwich Street Café is only one block away. They should have coffee, bagels and pastry.

“Tell me about this Kemosabe gourmet coffee,” Karen asked the man behind the counter as she was reading from the Kemosabe poster overhead.

“Well, I can tell you it is the best tasting gourmet coffee I ever had. It’s delicious. In addition, to the three gourmet flavors stated on the poster-mocha, chocolate cinnamon and chocolate hazelnut, we have crème butterscotch, chocolate irish cream and french vanilla.”

“They all sound delicious,” Karen replied. “How is the crème butterscotch?”

“Perhaps the best of all the flavors,” he passionately replied.

“Well given your level of enthusiasm, I’ll have a sixteen-ounce container of crème butterscotch.”

“And for you, sir?”

“I’ll have the same.”

Twenty-five minutes later, after we each had finished our 16 ounce containers of crème butterscotch gourmet coffee I stated to Karen, “Well, I guess we best to going if we’re going to discover more new places today.”

“Mark, while the Freedom Tower was nice, and I’m sure the ferry to Staten Island will be nice, I feel as if I made the biggest discovery of the day already.”

To be honest I was waiting for Karen to tell me it was my new sort level of adventure that was the biggest discovery of the day, but was quite surprised when she looked me in the eye, while holding her empty container of crème butterscotch gourmet coffee up and said, “This crème butterscotch gourmet coffee has taken me to new places.”
