Put Yourself Out There-SIPPITY Iced Chocolate Raspberry Hot Chocolate

Posted by Southwest Beverages on 8/4/2016

“Do you mind picking up a loaf of french bread on your way home,” my wife Michelle asked when she called me at my office 6:20 PM.

“No problem,” I answered referring to the fact that I would be stopping at Walmart on my way home to pick up a loaf of french bread to go with the spaghetti and meatball dinner Michelle was making.

“When will you be leaving the office?”

“In about five minutes. I just about to make myself a Sippity iced chocolate raspberry hot chocolate.”

“Humm, that sounds delicious.”

“It is. I’ll tell you what, Michelle, I bring home for you one of the single serve raspberry hot chocolate envelopes so you can have and iced raspberry hot chocolate for dessert.”

Fifteen minutes later I walked into Walmart carrying my container of iced chocolate raspberry hot chocolate, which was now half empty, and headed directly for the bread section. On my way I could not help but notice a young woman inputting prices into a calculator she was holding as she shopped for school supplies for her children. Seeing her brought back memories of when my children were young and money was “tight”.

“I’m sorry to trouble you, miss, but I couldn’t help but notice that you are obviously shopping for school supplies for your children and money must be tight since you are calculating the price of every item you put into your shopping cart,” I injected, then took a sip of my iced chocolate raspberry hot chocolate.

“Boy is that the understatement of the year,” she sarcastically replied, looking at me like a nosy stranger. “I’m a single Mom with two kids in school this year, so every penny counts,” she added.

“Believe me I know. I was in your predicament for many years when my kids were going up. I feel for you,” I stated as I took another sip form the now near empty container of Sippity iced chocolate raspberry hot chocolate I was holding. “If you don’t mind, please permit me to pay for all your children’s school supplies. Just pick out what you want and I’ll be back in five minutes to pay for everything. I just must go to the bread section and pick up a loaf of french bread my wife asked me to bring home for dinner.

To make a long story short, while the woman I met was extremely grateful that I paid for her children’s school supplies, I must be honest, while not wealthy by no means, I felt good that I could financially help someone. As such, I ask that all who read this blog, do likewise and help someone in need of school supplies. They will certainly appreciate it and you will feel good about yourself.
