What You Have Been Thirsting For-Iced KEMOSABE Mocha Flavored Coffee

Posted by Southwest Beverages on 7/14/2016

“Be careful out there,” my supervisor, Freddy, told us before we departed from our service truck to dig a trench the length of 44th Street between Lexington and Second Avenue in Manhattan. “Not only do you have to deal with the traffic, but the forecast for today is a high of 94 degrees with 90 percent humidity,” he added. “Drink plenty of fluids. Stay hydrated.”

“If I wanted to hit you I would have hit you,” the taxi driver called back to me after I yelled out at him for coming to close to me with his taxi while I was jack-hammering my way down 44th Street. By 11 AM I had had it with the day. Between having to watch out for the traffic, dipping up the street for the past three hours and putting up with the heat of the day had taken its toll on me. Suddenly, without notice, our office administrator, Maxine, came walking towards the crew holding what appeared to be a tray of containers.

“Hey guys,” she called out. “Time for a break.”

Within seconds all members of the crew stopped work and began walking towards, Maxine.

“I thought you guys might enjoy some iced Kemosabe mocha flavored coffee,” she stated as she began to hand out the twenty-ounce containers.

“Now this is what I have been thirsting for all morning,” I stated to Maxine after I had taken a good long drink from the container. “Iced mocha flavored coffee.”

“Boy does this ever hit the spot,” one of my co-workers stated to Maxine.

“You’re an angle in disguise,” another stated as he returned his container to his lap after he had taken a drink of his iced mocha flavored coffee.

After taking our twenty-minute break, it was back to work. “I’ll be back around 2 PM with another tray of iced Kemosabe mocha flavored coffee,” Maxine stated as the guys returned their empty containers to her tray. “I know it’s hot out there, guys, so keep up the good work.”

“Maxine, it’s not the heat,” I stated as I handed her my empty container of mocha flavored coffee, “it’s the traffic.”
