As we approach the holidays, many of us will be shopping for gifts for the special people in our lives. Sometimes we know exactly what will bring joy into the lives of our loved ones, but other times we’re at a loss. Fortunately, there are plenty of gifts out there that anyone will love. Here are some of my favorites.

As I was flying into Chicago last week, I looked out the window of the plane and down onto that beautiful city and thought-in one week not only will the 10 million people of Chicago sit down to basically the same turkey Thanksgiving meal, but all of America will do likewise and all within three to four hours of one another.

One of things we’re proud of at Southwest Beverage is our community involvement. We think charities are important and we want to do our part to make sure that fundraising events are a success. We’re so serious about that goal that we’ve developed an entire department of our company that’s devoted to assisting charities with their fundraisers. Not only do we offer our products to your fundraising efforts at a discounted price, but we also provide marketing materials and never require payment until your event is complete. For more information, click here to visit the Fundraising section of our website.

Coffee is a popular beverage enjoyed in one form or another all around the world. It’s the second most traded commodity (the number one is oil). Preparing their morning coffee is often the first task people perform each day. We drink it alone, in a group, at our desks, in our cars, and on the couch. It’s a versatile staple that we couldn’t live it out.

As we approach the holidays, many of us will be hosting friends and family for a few days (or perhaps weeks at a time). Some families will gather entire generations under one roof for their yearly celebrations. No matter your faith, traditions, or cultural beliefs, I’m sure at some point in your life you have experienced a weekend at a relative’s home, or had others stay with you.

As the weather cools down, many families are looking away from those light and airy summer meals (like salads and fish) and seeking something that sits a bit heavier in their stomachs. It is harvest season, which means a lot of new flavors and top-of-the-line ingredients are available in many communities. Check out your local farmers’ markets to see the new selections they’re offering. Use some of those fresh foods to make some of these harvest dinners for your family.

There is something special about the kitchen in our homes. It’s the place we often share our meals, drink our morning coffee or hot cocoa, talk about the day, read the paper and inevitably the place that is the center of attention for all parties and where all family holiday meals are prepared.
